427 – RARE & UNUSUAL FRENCH NAPOLEONIC 1st EMPIRE VERSAILLES FLINTLOCK RIFLE:
In good general condition. 48 3/8 inch overall length. 17mm caliber. Very good metal bearing a light age patina throughout. Excellent “Mre Imp.le de Versailles” markings on lock plate. No other visible markings. Unusual rear sight with flip-up brass leaf for long range shooting. Excellent action. Very good bore with very good rifling. Original ramrod. Good stock with some stress cracks and on the front section at the junction with the barrel as well as underneath behind the first ramrod brass mount (see photos).
